Before your Thanksgiving dinner, work up an appetite by lacing up your running shoes. The 30A 10K Thanksgiving Day charity race in Alys Beach starts at 7 AM. As someone who grew up on the east coast, I never get past the beauty of palm trees. If I had to describe my perfect day in Newport Beach during the holidays it would have to start with a morning walk for hot tea and cocoa. Then, a football game at home, a walk in the afternoon with the kids around Balboa Island to see the decorations, and dinner with my husband. I can't say there were fireworks between Laura Osnes and Stephen Huszar and I think part of that is because so much screen time is spent on other things.

I love color, but not colors that are almost black. Just sit in the woods and enjoy the show each night. Newport Beach is magical during the holidays because of the fabulous holiday decorations. Which houses a collection of exhibits that educate locals and tourists on the history of Newport Beach and Balboa Island. Especially if they love the show Arrested Development. After dinner, take a long, leisurely stroll along South Walton’s glistening shore. Come home to homemade pumpkin pie and hot chocolate. Listen to the joyful sounds of your family as they laugh together, take tons of photos, and enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday by the sea. I just don’t understand why show houses are so popular. Very very few I’ve ever seen are a functioning home for people to live in…so many non-useable spaces that have no real purpose but to add square footage and decorate. All these pictures are mine, so I did the best I could to capture the spaces.
